The City of Camden welcomes the Arkansas Cal Ripken T-Ball & 9 Year old State tournament July 5, 6 & 7, 2024.
Tournaments will be played at the Camden Sportsplex Facility, 2708 Mt Holly Road. Teams for the tournament will be coming from Bryant, Greenbrier, Little Rock, Lakewood, Sylvan Hills, Lafayette County, Benton, Des Arc, Stuttgart, Star City, Lonoke, Monticello, El Dorado and the home team of Camden.
Concessions will be available at the tournament site and will be run by the Ouachita County Fair Association. Tournament play will begin on Friday, July 5th and playing through Sunday, July 7th Tournament passes can be purchased for $20.00 or Day passes for $10.00 each at the gate. Tournament play will be 3PM till 9PM on Friday and 10AM till 5PM on both Saturday and Sunday.

CADC will host summer utility assistance event on July 8th from 8AM till 2PM at their office located at 313 Jefferson.

Camden Fire Department and LifeShare Blood Drive

The Ouachita County Historical Society will be exhuming the time capsule that was buried 50 years ago to the day!
This monumental event will take place during July’s First Friday: Monthly Market in Camden AR!

Get ready for this Saturday!! Produce, baked goods and local honey will be there this week. Vendor spaces still available at no cost. Contact Lindsay at # on graphic to sign up.
Market is in new location, 8AM to 11AM every Saturday.

Camden indoor pickleball courts open Friday and Saturday. Two courts available now. 3rd one coming soon!
Outdoor courts are in the works, we will announce once they are ready.

Severe storms have caused power outages across Ouachita County overnight, with nearly 2,000 customers without power.
Treat all downed utility lines as live electrical lines, unless directly informed otherwise by a utility representative. Use caution if clearing downed trees or limbs, making sure that no utility lines are entangled in the branches.
If you use a portable generator for electricity, be sure it is not used indoors, and is located outside in a well-ventilated area. Carbon monoxide is an odorless gas that can cause death in even low amounts.
Camden's indoor pickleball courts open next week! We are excited for the opening and look forward to also having outdoor courts open soon.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Ouachita County until 11:00 p.m. Thursday.
Primary threats include:
•Scattered large hail likely, with isolated very large hail up to 2.5 inches possible.
•Scattered damaging winds of 70 mph.
•A possible tornado.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for Ouachita County until 8:00 a.m. Tuesday.
A Dense Fog Advisory means visibility will frequently be reduced to less than one-quarter of a mile. Allow extra time when driving, slow down, use headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
Tuesday, 4/30/24 the railroad crossing at Grinstead, Center and Progress Streets will be closed for maintenance. Please take alternate routes. The railroad has said all work should be completed in 1 day.
The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Ouachita County until 2:00 a.m. Monday.
A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. If you are in the watch area, be sure to monitor the National Weather Service, your NOAA Weather Radio, or local news for more information on threatening weather conditions and additional severe weather watches or warnings.
Lifeguards wanted!

Congressman Bruce Westerman (AR-04) will hold mobile office hours Tuesday, April 23rd from 10AM till 12 Noon at Camden City Hall in the Council Chambers. Staff will be available to assist constituents with casework matters related to passports, Social Security, Veterans Affairs, Internal Revenue Service, and other federal agency related issues.
Reminder: Cash Road between Cardinal Shopping Center and Mt Holly Rd will be closed for repairs today and tomorrow (Monday & Tuesday) 4/15 & 16.
